2009 Triumph Bonneville and Bonneville SE

Triumph’s enduringly-popular Bonneville range has been given a new look and feel as the iconic model moves into its 50th year. The original Bonneville was launched to critical acclaim in 1958 and has been Triumph’s signature model ever since.
The latest Bonnevilles have been given a Seventies makeover and feature a host of chassis changes aimed at making the bike easier to ride than ever before. Visually, the most striking difference comes with the new 17” cast alloy wheels at the front and rear, new mudguards and stylish megaphone silencers from the sporty Thruxton.
New handlebars are closer to the rider, and seat height is reduced by 25mm making the riding position even more relaxed and accessible. The smaller, lighter, front wheel helps make the new Bonneville a maneuverable, agile machine sure to inspire confidence in anyone who rides it. Practicality is aided by an optional rear rack, which is a new addition to the lengthy list of official Triumph accessories. Complementing the clean lines are classic black or white colour options.
Triumph’s venerable 865cc air-cooled parallel twin remains the heart and soul of the Bonneville. Its 360° firing order gives the modern Bonneville the engine characteristics of a classic twin, while twin balancer shafts and cutting-edge production methods ensure up-to-date refinement and reliability. Ninety percent of peak torque – a very healthy 69Nm (51ft.lbf) at 5,800rpm – is maintained from around 2,500rpm through to the redline providing smooth, effortless acceleration throughout the five gears.

Also on sale is the higher-specification Bonneville SE. The SE version includes more comprehensive instrumentation, including a tacho, chromed tank badge and brushed alloy engine casings. The SE comes in solid black or a classic two-tone livery combining the dark Pacific Blue with Fusion White.
